E-commerce websites have always been popular in Indonesia. However, many were more like marketplaces, where people list goods for sale. The e-commerce game is increasing with the entrance of three new websites.

1. Fimelashop.com

This is a spin off from the online magazine fimela.com. Fimela claims that their website will offer exclusive fashion brands, children’s clothing and toys, as well as home decor. Accordingly, brands will include Metro Department Store, Missoni, Herve Leger, Robert Rodriquez, Adidas, Disney, Nicklelodeon and Akebono. Fimela founder Dian M Mujadi worked with the Octovate Group to develop the website in conjunction with Kolibrii.com.

The website is available in Beta.

 

2. Laavaa.com

It is the brainchild of two Canadians with a love for Indonesian design. The website sells goods from local fashion designers. They have some of the hippest brands on their list with contemporary designs.

 

3. Zalora.com

This website was made by the notorious copycat – Rocket Internet GmbH, which is a German incubator. Rocket has a habit of copying successful US startups. well, I guess they have exhausted Europe (especially with the austerity issues) and decided to move business to Asia. Their major selling point is that they don’t sell fakes.
